LET’S C-P-R!
To protect yourself against cybercrimes, the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), encourages the public to C-P-R or CHECK, PROTECT, and REPORT when making financial transactions.
CHECK – Check whom you are talking to. Banks and financial institutions will only ask for your personal information if you initiate a call or transaction through their official hotlines or verified channels.
PROTECT – Protect confidential information. Do not provide your personal data, account details, or passwords to senders of random text messages or emails.
REPORT – Report incidences of scams and suspicious transactions to your bank or financial institution immediately if you think your account has been compromised.
Contact your BSP-Supervised Financial Institution (BSFI) if you have concerns about your bank account, credit card, or e-money wallet.
You may also report scams and fraud attempts to the Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group through its Complaint Action Center Hotline number (02) 8723-0401 local 7491.
If your BSFI is not able to address your complaint, you may reach out to the central bank using the BSP Online Buddy (BOB) through the following:
- Click the BOB icon on the lower-right corner of the BSP website at www.bsp.gov.ph
- Use Facebook Messenger to chat with BOB at https://www.facebook.com/BangkoSentralngPilipinas/
- For Globe subscribers, send a text message to 21582277 (standard charges apply)
